This was one of the best weeks of my life. Getting out of bed at 4:00 in the morning to take the 5:05 train the 51 miles from Wolsztyn to Posnan. Travelling along in the pitch dark at 60 miles an hour is something I will never forget!
Howard jones, who runs the Wolsztyn experience from the house in Wolsztyn along with his brother Trevor in the U.K. have created a totally unique vacation for steam enthusiasts from all over the world. Now in it's thirteenth successful year I highly reccommend it. I found the polish people very helpful and friendly. The local restaurants are good, and cheap. Fillet steak and a bottle of nice red wine for two only 16:00! I cannot enthuse enough about this great experience. 10 out of 10.

It was dirty, noisy, smelly and shook me about......and I loved it! The Wolsztyn Experience staff were helpful and the Polish engine drivers were good too. Accommodation at the house was nice too. The town is nice and there are several lakes in the area, one having a path around it. All round pleasant experience. Should be back next year Howard. Lynn

What a fantastic week. Nothing better than watching the sun rise from behind the controls of a regular steam hauled train.
Friendly crews, good accommodation, cheap food and very compatible fellow "experiencees" made for a most memorable first time!
